RCB Bank Skiatook Honors Teachers and Staff
published on 09/07/2010
Even if you don’t have children in school, by now you have noticed those big, yellow school busses making their way down the streets and roadways around Skiatook.
The new school year has started off well, despite the tumultuous happenings at the administrative level.
Area businesses and citizens have shown overwhelming support of Skiatook’s teachers in their effort to be the best they can be for all students.
During professional development days before students returned to the classroom, teachers were treated to a breakfast of cinnamon rolls and fruit, provided by the Skiatook Food Service Department. Rusty and Ronda Chevalier also provide a barbecue lunch with all the trimmings to show their appreciation of the Skiatook Schools staff members.
Local businesses also came to the professional development days to welcome teachers back for a new school year.
Geoff McGoffin and staff from RCB Bank were on hand with a welcome gift for each teacher. Beverly Taylor and the crew from State Farm Insurance handed out classroom survival kits. Dennis Lenox from the American Bank of Oklahoma held a drawing to sponsor one classroom at each of the school sites. Each classroom chosen received $250 for classroom items.
Such support by the community and local businesses helps to provide Skiatook students with solid education and a positive learning environment.
